This is an Advanced Scene Study Class that meets once a week and includes intermittent showcases/performances of the cumulative work done in class.

Students will pick a 2 person scene to work on each month. 

Time permitting, every student may work in every class, though it's not mandatory.

* You will receive a reply noting that your email has been received, and subsequently if you are accepted into the class.

* Once accepted, you will be given the class roster and can be in touch with fellow classmates about scenes you'd like to bring in, as well as improvisations you wish to prepare.

Things to Know:

** Auditors are always welcome, and may pay the $25 audit fee before class begins each SUNDAY. 

What We'll Work On:

* 10-12 minute scenes taken to performance level (the scenes may be a little longer or shorter). Note: This class works on scenes from PLAYS written after 1930.

* Advanced Meisner Technique exercises and Improvisations including Doors and Activities, Particularizations, Voice/Breath work, Fantasies, Animal Work and other exercises towards the scenes.

* Script Analysis: including in depth research of plays with attention to time, place, circumstances, history, political landscapes, characterizations, themes and intentions.

* Relationship to the space with attention to sets, staging and the actors physicality. Basic furniture is available at the theater including tables, sofa, and chairs. Any additional props or furniture must be furnished by the actors.

* Rehearsal outside of class is ongoing. Honoring your daily commitments to rehearse is part of the class.

For those accepted, please email your scenes to Robyn Cohen reallyrobyn@earthlink.net AT LEAST ONE WEEK PRIOR to class (scanning, or taking a photo in a CLEAR IMAGE and emailing the scene is fine), AND please bring an extra hard copy for the teacher on SUNDAYS.
